The OpenVoB is a new industry group that seeks to establish standards-based, multi-vendor interoperability of voice over broadband and thus accelerate industry uptake of voice services. The group’s goal is a series of events, dubbed CallFests, to begin by the end of the year in order to demonstrate interoperable system implementations. The challenge is to arrive at a set of implementation models that meet service provider preferences, which at this point vary greatly depending on providers’ existing infrastructure and business models.”]
