Online Seller of Counterfeit Credit Cards Gets Prison Time

Indiana man sentenced to 14 years in prison for wire fraud, aggravated identity theft. Tony Perez III, 21, of Hammond, Indiana, pleaded guilty to the charges on April 4. He sold counterfeit credit cards encoded with stolen account information. Secret Service agents found 20,987 stolen credit card accounts on his computers, in his email messages. Credit card companies reported more than US$3.1 million in fraudulent charges associated with those accounts, court documents say. Judge orders Perez to pay $2.8 million in restitution and a $250,000 fine.”]
