Online casino fined for emailing promotions to self-excluded gamblers

Caesars Entertainment fined $10,000 for sending promotional emails to 250 ‘compulsive’ gamblers in New Jersey. The gambling arm of the casino giant said the issue was a ‘back-end software issue’ The firm said it had been fixed and has had no incidents since. The fine was imposed by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE), levied under the Casino Control Act, in respect of the companys sending of promotional materials to those who were either internet self-excluded or were on the self exclusion list.”]
