Cyberthreat information-sharing legislation has been debated for years, but has been unable to enact. The White House’s proposal would provide stronger privacy protections than CISPA. CISPA provided too broad of liability protections for businesses that share cyberthreat information. The proposal would encourage businesses to share appropriate cyberthreat info with the National Cybersecurity and Communications Integration Center.
