NSA backdoor detected on >55,000 Windows boxes can now be remotely removed

Microsoft officials say they doubt the accuracy of multiple Internet-wide scans showing DoublePulsar malware. Microsoft has yet to respond to requests for an update on the number of infected machines. Private researchers are stepping in to fill the void, releasing a tool that can remotely uninstall the malware. The weapons-grade implant was released by the Shadow Brokers, a mysterious person or group that has leaked top-secret documents and software later confirmed to have been stolen from the NSA. The tool will no doubt prove useful to admins responsible for large fleets of aging computers.”]
