Norton 360 Offering Contains Controversial Cryptominer

New Norton 360 antivirus product Norton 360 has a tool that will mine cryptocurrency while users’ computers are idle. The company says the feature is opt-in-only and must be enabled. Norton says the product is designed to make existing cryptomining safer. Experts say the feature may be difficult to uninstall and may be hard to uninstall. The tool will take away 85% of what users’ devices mine, with Norton earning a 15% commission. The software company says it is “committed to being a strong steward of the environment””]
