The beta versions of Norton AV 2008 and Internet Security 2008 are now available. The products will have a new network-mapping feature as well as behavior-based SONAR detection software. McAfee Total Protection 2.0 went into beta two weeks ago. The betas promise improved performance but no word on whether they’ve really fixed processor-hobbling weekly scans. Both products are due to be released in the fall and are expected to be updated later this year.
