U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology releases long-awaited guidance update. It’s the first time since 2013 that NIST has updated the document, which addresses cybersecurity risks faced by federal government agencies and private sector. NIST made several critical changes to help government and private organizations adopt what it calls “next-generation security and privacy controls” The changes include new guidelines on strengthening existing controls within IT systems and making them more adaptable to modern technologies and platforms, such as cloud computing, mobile devices and IoT devices.”]
