NIST Drafting Guide on Media Sanitization

National Institute of Standards and Technology is revising guidance aimed to help organizations sanitize data. NIST is seeking public comment on the draft guidance to consider before issuing a final report. Comments should be submitted to 800-88r1r1 by Nov. 30. The need for the revised guidance is tied to the rapidly evolving storage environment, NIST says. The effective management of information from inception through disposition is the responsibility of all those who have handled the data, says NIST.”]
