New Java feature aims to manage multiple version problems

Oracle releases Java Update 40, implements changes announced earlier this year. The new version of Java 7 is aimed at desktop administrators who manage a large number of users. Oracle maintains that its latest Java release will improve security by increasing awareness of an app’s origins. Security experts are skeptical about that Oracle claim, though, saying it’s just another dialogue that they’ll ignore. Oracle did not respond to a request for comment. The latest release is Oracle’s first effort to address that problem with a new version.”]
