The U.S. Senate will hold hearings on an intelligence bill when it returns on Dec. 3. The ACLU claims the bill will prevent Americans from uncovering the specifics of warrantless surveillance programs run by the federal government since the 2001 terrorist attacks. The bill also provides immunity to telecommunications firms from litigation.
