FIDO Alliance has launched an onboarding protocol for IoT devices that’s designed to enhance security. The new protocol uses asymmetric public key cryptography to provide a fast and secure way of onboarding IoT devices to any device management system. The U.K. Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport has proposed new regulations that would create standards for built-in cybersecurity of smart devices and force manufacturers to be transparent about security.
