New Emotet delivery method spotted during downward detection trend

Malwarebytes has detected repeated weekly spikes in Emotet detections since August 1. The malware is one of cybersecuritys most-feared malware threats, hiding itself within a fake Microsoft Office request that asks users to update Microsoft Word so that they can take advantage of new features. The new template includes the following text: Upgrade your edition of Microsoft Word Upgrading your edition will add new features to Microsoft Word. Please, click Enable Editing and then click Enable Content. If users follow these dangerous instructions, they will actually enable the malicious macros.”]
