Network gaming company uses its cheat-prevention client to build a Bitcoin botnet

E-Sports Entertainment is a gaming community on the internet. Its custom client software is designed to detect cheats, such as programmatically automating tasks that are supposed to be a battle of dexterity between human opponents. ESEA has been accused of using the client to mine Bitcoins. The company had toyed with the idea of using its customers as a giant bot, but decided not to go ahead and ran a Bitcoin farm on ESEA customers computers for the next two weeks.
