The NetWalker ransomware has transitioned to a ransomware-as-a-service (RaaS) model. Its operators are placing a heavy emphasis on targeting and attracting technically advanced affiliates, researchers say. The group also advocates its ability to exfiltrate data from a target and publish it to a blog on underground forums as a form of double extortion. The size of the ransom payments ranges from hundreds of thousands of dollars to hundreds of millions of dollars, researchers said.
