Misconceptions about targeted attacks

Trend Micro’s Spencer Hsieh published a blog focused on misconceptions surrounding targeted attacks. He said that Trend commonly comes up against these mindsets while working with organizations of all shapes and sizes. The term APT, or Advanced Persistent Threat, is a marketing term that can be leveraged to spread FUD, he said. He also said that attackers rarely need to do anything all that advanced to accomplish their goals to achieve their goals.
