Microsoft Turned Over Search Data to DOJ

Microsoft has acknowledged compliance with a Department of Justice subpoena for MSN search records. The DOJ sought a court order to make Google turn over its records. Microsoft did provide “some aggregated query logs that listed queries and how often they occurred,” in plain English, it provided a list of common keywords and their frequency of use. The admittance comes after the highly publicized refusal last week by Internet search firm Google to provide similar records. Google refused to comply with the DOJ’s request for the records.”]
