Microsoft to remove insecure TLS support on its Linux Software Repository

Microsoft is discontinuing support for the insecure Transport Layer Security (TLS) 1.0 and 1.1 protocols on its Linux Software Repository starting with September 24, 2020. The company also announced earlier this month that TLS 1.3 will be enabled by default in all Windows 10 Insider Preview builds beginning with Build 20170 as the start of a wider rollout to all systems running Windows 10. After that date, organizations will have to enable a newer version of the protocol to continue accessing packages from hosted at packages.microsoft.com.
