Microsoft patch fixed IE flaw used against U.S. military

A February attack on the U.S. Veterans of Foreign Wars’ website exploited a zero-day vulnerability in Internet Explorer. Experts believe the attackers were hoping to infect the computers of active military personnel visiting the site. The VFW has 1.4 million members, including 75,000 who are still active. Microsoft released four security bulletins Tuesday addressed a total of 42 vulnerabilities, including the XMLDOM vulnerability used by the Stuxnet malware, Kaspersky Lab says. Microsoft also released a fix for five vulnerabilities in the Windows Lync Server and task scheduler.”]
