Microsoft announced that it will discontinue the Skype Classic app on September 1st. The app will stop receiving updates in November when its most popular features are integrated into Skype 8. Microsoft is sending an email to people still using older versions to inform them about this change. Microsoft says that they’ll start requiring people to update to Skype version 8 in waves over the next several months. For desktop, the first wave would begin on 11/1/2018 and Mobile devices and tablet users will get the notification on 11-15/2018.
