Microsoft fixes shortcut vulnerability MS10-046

Microsoft released an out-of-band patch for the well-documented Windows shortcut vulnerability. The patch is called MS10-046 and will show up in Windows Update as Security Update for Windows XXXX (KB2286198) Microsoft posted an extensive Q&A about the patch that referenced our Windows Shortcut Exploit Protection Tool. The EXP/CPLink identity is the 5th most common piece of malware we have seen in the last 24 hours. It is critical that you maintain continuous protection with either our tool or the Microsoft fix.”]
