Microsoft announces plans to ditch legacy Edge in Windows 10

Microsoft today announced the dates when Windows 10 and Microsoft 365 will no longer support the Microsoft Edge Legacy and Internet Explorer 11 (IE 11) web browsers. The new Microsoft Edge is currently rolling out automatically via Windows Update to customers using Windows 10 1803 or later who upgrade to Windows 10, version 2004. Microsoft 365 and Windows 10 will also end support for IE 11 starting with Microsoft Teams dropping support on November 30, 2020, with the rest of the Microsoft 365 apps and services to ditch IE 11 support on August 17, 2021. Customers using one of the two browsers who want to migrate to a supported solution until next year’s deadline.
