Microsoft published the company’s financial results for the fiscal quarter that ended on December 31, 2018, reporting revenue of $32.5 billion with a 12% YoY increase. Microsoft returned $9.6 billion to shareholders in the form of dividends and share repurchases during the second quarter of fiscal year 2019. Microsoft’s commercial cloud revenue grew 48% year-over-year, with operating income of $10.3 billion and increased by 18%. Free cash flow reached $5.2 billion, experiencing a 2% decrease following capital expenditures in support of the cloud business.
