Merchants need to start planning TLS migration

Merchants using SSL encryption to protect transactions will soon have to upgrade to a successor standard. The Payment Card Industry Securities Standards Council issued a bulletin in February. About 45 percent of the world’s top million websites still support SSL, according to SSL Pulse. While SSL is not compatible with SSL, the certificates that websites get to secure their communications can work with either standard, expert says. The update is due out this month, but it will be future-dated to allow merchants time to implement the changes.”]
