McAfee: Wave of Shamoon cyberattacks being coordinated by a single group

The latest waves of cyberattacks are linked to the 2012 Shamoon attacks on Saudi Arabia. Researchers say the attacks are all the work of hacker groups supported and coordinated by a single actor. The attacks have gone beyond that vertical to include more than a dozen government agencies, financial services organizations, and critical infrastructure. The increase in sophistication suggests investment, collaboration, and coordination beyond that of a single hacker group, researchers say.
