Maze ransomware fails to encrypt Pitney Bowes, steals files

Global business services company Pitney Bowes recently stopped an attack from Maze ransomware operators before the encryption routine could be deployed but the actor still managed to steal some data. The company is still trying to determine what type of data the hackers accessed but the current assessment is that it appears to be limited The attack comes less than months since the company recovered from another ransomware attack, with Ryuk, which was announced on October 14. The threat actor published personal and work emails of two current and a former senior vice president.
