March Android Security Update Breaks SafetyNet, Android Pay

Google has re-issued its over-the-air Android security update after Nexus 6 users reported that the patches broke the SafetyNet API and features such as Android Pay no longer worked. The issue has been resolved, even for devices that had already installed the bad update. Mediaserver was again a hot spot for the Android OS with nine remote code execution vulnerabilities patched along with a privilege escalation bug in recovery verifier. The remaining critical vulnerabilities were all privilege escalation issues in kernel ION, Broadcom Wi-Fi driver, the kernel FIQ debugger, the Qualcomm GPU driver and in the kernel networking subsystem.
