Malaysia’s Central Bank Blocks Attempted SWIFT Fraud

Malaysia’s central bank says it successfully blocked a Tuesday attack that attempted to steal funds via fraudulent SWIFT messages. The bank has not identified a potential culprit behind the attack. In February, one Russian bank lost $6 million to just such an attack; a small Indian bank that lost $1 million to attackers in February. In August 2016, the Bangladesh Bank heist was widely attributed to the government of North Korea.”]
