Lloyds of London report estimates average losses for a scenario involving a hacking of operating systems ranged from $9.7 billion to $28 billion. Economic costs in the hypothetical cloud provider attack could reach $8 billion global cost for cases like WannaCry ransomware that hit targets in more than 100 countries.
