Liverpool Voyeur Used IM-RAT to Video Women at Home

A 27-year-old Liverpool, England man has been convicted on charges of computer misuse. Scott Crowley admitted to installing the remote-access trojan (RAT) known as Imminent Monitor on three unsuspecting women s devices. He was sentenced to two years in jail after admitting to installing IM-RAT on the victims computers. The spyware allows someone to spy and track users whereabouts and activities without the knowledge of the user. The term stalkerware refers to both surreptitious spyware available on the Dark Web as well as applications that claim to be legitimate, offered for sale.
