LifeLock Settles FTC Case for $100 Million

FTC held LifeLock in contempt for violating terms of a 2010 federal court order requiring the company to secure consumers’ personally identifiable information and prohibit the use of deceptive advertising. FTC: LifeLock failed to establish and maintain a comprehensive information security program to protect users’ sensitive personal information including their Social Security, credit card and bank account numbers from October 2012 through March 2014.
