Life After Yahoo: Mayer Forced to Testify Before Senate

Former Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer and former Equifax CEO Richard Smith set to testify before a Senate committee. Mayer reportedly declined to testify voluntarily, leading to a rare move by the Senate to issue a subpoena. The hearing is scheduled to open with its chairman, Sen. John Thune, calling on companies to sharpen their cybersecurity practices. Mayer and Smith will answer questions over what she knew, when she knew it and how she might have handled her company’s breach response. Yahoo’s entire user base, totaling 3 billion accounts, was compromised by a data breach in August 2013, a security adviser says.”]
