Cybersecurity firm Secureworks says the Conti ransomware group continues to post new victims to its data leak site. The group’s activities appear to have resumed in earnest in February, the firm says. The number of victims posted to the site in March “surged to the second-highest monthly total since January 2021″ Conti practices double extortion, meaning it often steals data from a victim before crypto-locking systems and demands a ransom not just for a decryption key, but a promise from the criminals that they won’t publicly leak or sell the stolen data to others.”]
