Keystroke Logging On the Rise

Hackers are expected to release more than 6,000 keylogging programs this year. The software illegally records every keystroke on a victims PC. Software then reports this information back to the hacker, making it an effective way to snoop out confidential information like user names and passwords. The jump in the number of keyloggers is due, in part, to the recent growth in online banking, a security vendor says. The average cost of a successful keylogger attack is about US$4,000 per victim, iDefense says.”]
