A researcher who impersonated the mayor of a small U.S. town that only has a town.us domain name says he used a fake Google Voice number and fake Gmail address to obtain a.gov domain. The domain was registered on Nov. 14 and displayed the same content as the. domain it was impersonating town.exeter.ri.us which belongs to the town of Exeter, Rhode Island. A spokesman for the GSA says the agency is working with the appropriate authorities and implementing additional fraud prevention controls.”]
