Iranian-Linked Android Spyware Sneaks Into Private Chats

Malware linked to Iranian government added new capabilities to spy on Skype, Instagram and WhatsApp. The group suspected of developing the malware, known as APT39, is believed to have ties to the Iranian government. The U.S. Treasury Department issued sanctions on the group in September. The malware can also take photos with a compromised device’s camera and configure audio recordings, according to the report. The hackers can also use the malware to add a custom Wi-Fi access point and force the device to connect to it.”]
