Iowa Drops Trespassing Charges Against Penetration Testers

Iowa prosecutors drop trespassing charges against a pair of penetration testers. The men were working on behalf of Coalfire, a cybersecurity consultancy based in Westminster, Colorado. The pair were arrested early in the morning of Sept. 11, 2019, after they had gained access to the Dallas County Courthouse in Adel, Iowa. The sheriff claimed the court system’s contract with the men was illegal, and so they had broken the law. The charges against the men were downgraded to trespassing and a trial date was set for this April.”]
