Insider Breach – T-Mobile Czech Employee Steals and Sells 1.5 Million Users Data

One of the T-Mobile Czech Republic employees stole more than 1.5 million customer records. The data was stolen by one of its employees who was caught while trying to sell it on for a profit. The company assured its customers that the stolen database did not contain any sensitive information such as location, traffic or other sensitive data like passwords. The investigation into the issue has been handed over to the Czech Police’s Unit for Combating Organized Crime, though the company said the breach is not due to a signal failure or a failure of system or procedures.
