Industrial Networks See Sharp Uptick in Hackable Security Holes

Claroty reports that adversaries, CISOs and researchers have all turned their attention to finding critical security bugs in ICS networks. The report analyzed all publicly disclosed vulnerabilities in the second half of 2020. Every disclosure ranked highly on MITRE s 2020 CWE Top 25 Most Dangerous Software Weaknesses list because they were easy to exploit and potentially catastrophic, the report said. Industry is starting to react, and more vulnerabilities identified means the industry is more secure, it said. More than 71 percent of the bugs were remotely exploitable, according to the report.
