Illinois schools can legally demand students’ social media passwords

President Obama has proposed changes to the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (CFAA) Many security, civil liberties and attorney experts are concerned about some legislative proposals, particularly the Presidents proposed amendments (pdf) to the CFAA. The changes could include sharing passwords to a student’s social media account because a school official demanded it.
