White House budget chief seeks to delay ban on U.S. government using Huawei products. Russell Vought, the acting director of the Office of Management and Budget, sent a June 4 letter. Vought warns against implementing the ban too quickly, saying it will result in a dramatic reduction in suppliers. The White House has continued to mobilize against Huawei, as well as Chinese telecommunications manufacturing giant ZTE, on the grounds that they pose a risk to national security.
