A new Linux malware dubbed EvilGnome was discovered by Intezer Labs’ researchers in early July. The malware comes with five modules, each of them designed to run in a separate thread and “access to shared resources (such as the configuration) is safeguarded by mutexes”” The malware also seems to be connected with the Russian threat group known as Gamaredon Group
