HTC Vows to Fix Android Flaw Revealing Wi-Fi Credentials

HTC’s Android phones are affected by a security flaw that could expose Wi-Fi credentials. An attacker could harvest SSID names and passwords for all networks that the phone has accessed. HTC says most phones have already received a fix through regular updates. Other phones, however, will require users to manually load the fix. Researchers discovered the flaw in September, and worked with HTC and Google for months before revealing it publicly. Google has made changes to its code to better protect the flaw and found no apps taking advantage of the flaw.”]
