HTC Investigates Reports of Vulnerability in Android Phones

The vulnerability affects HTC EVO 3D, EVO 4G, Thunderbolt and possibly its Sensation line. HTC says it is investigating the vulnerability and will provide an update as soon as possible. The vulnerability is a result of modifications HTC made to the version of Android used in those models. It’s a “lack of foresight” rather than lax programming, Trend Micro’s Rik Ferguson says. “It sounds like something very simple to patch,” he says. Users should be careful about apps they download until HTC fixes the problem.”]
