How to recover from an Alpha ransomware attack

Researchers have released a decryption tool for a strain of ransomware that uses a bizarre routine to encrypt victims files. The Alpha ransomware asks for US $400 in iTunes gift cards as a ransom payment. Ransomware is the third ransomware to ask for gift cards in recent weeks. A bug in the ransomwares code prevented the emails to which victims are supposed to send payments from being listed. Michael Gillespie has since spotted a more significant coding vulnerability, which he has used to develop a tool for the ransomware.”]
