Hollywood Presbyterian Hospital has been hit by a “ransomware” attack that has rendered the hospital’s network and computer system completely inoperable. Hackers demand a $3.4 million ransom to unlock the network. Several patients have been transferred to other hospitals where the chips are not down. The attack was random and has nothing to do with data stored in hospital servers, hospital officials say. The FBI and L.A. police are investigating the identity of the attackers, though in the meantime, the computers are still offline.”]
