‘Historical Mega Breaches’ Continue: Tumblr Hacked

65 million stolen credentials from micro-blogging platform Tumblr have surfaced in a darknet marketplace. Australian security expert Troy Hunt says 2016 is fast becoming the year of “historical mega breaches” Other mega breaches include 360 million accounts stolen from MySpace, LinkedIn, Fling and MySpace. Security experts warn that anyone who’s reused their Tumblr password on other sites should change every password, preferably to something that’s unique. Tumblr hasn’t disclosed which hashing algorithm it used, Hunt says at least half of its passwords being sold could be cracked.”]
