The idea behind HIBP is to give you a quick way of checking your own online accounts against data breaches that are already known to be public. But there are numerous problems with relying on the combined goodwill and ability of a company thats just suffered a breach, not least that the scale of the breach might not be obvious at first. Even if the company does do its best to identify the victims, it may not have up-to-date contact data for you.”]
