The DNSChanger Trojans malicious software is still running on computers at half of the Fortune 500 companies, new research shows. The malware alters the host computer’s Internet settings to hijack search results and block victims from visiting security sites that might help scrub the infections. Authorities shut down the DNSChanger botnet on March 8, 2012, with a court order to replace the malware with a surrogate DNS infrastructure with surrogate DNS servers.
