Hackers Take Over Funeral Home’s Email Account and Run Online Scams

Griffin Funeral Home in West Monroe, Louisiana, was hacked by hackers posing as the owner of the company. They asked customers for money transfers, asking for $2,450 to be paid in a Ukrainian bank account. Funeral home staff changed the account’s password four times before being locked out for good. The company has changed its official email address and is now informing customers to ignore the emails and update their contact details. It has also filed a complaint with local police, but they have not heard back.
